Why do we do what we do?
For over 30 years, ACS has partnered with families in Acadiana. Based out of the New Iberia Campus of Our Savior’s Church, we are designed to assist parents in the God-ordained training of their children and are proud to offer a Christ-centered, quality education. Through this partnership with OSC, we have an incredible opportunity to take the legacy of God’s grace, hope, and love that we have seen change lives for the better. God wants to use our school to share in the mission of OSC; to Reach People and Build Lives. As Acadiana Christian School, we will continue to see kids’ lives transformed because they know they are loved and have an incredible future.

Our Mission
The mission of Acadiana Christian School is to “Reach Students, Build Lives” through discipleship education.
Our Philosophy
Acadiana Christian School has a desire to provide parents with the opportunity of educating their children totally- body, mind, and spirit, engraving the Word of God on their hearts (Deut. 6:6). Our philosophy centers on Jesus Christ as the focal point of all teaching and learning. Because we believe the Bible is the infallible, divine Word of God, we desire to give students the opportunity to know God and form a relationship with Christ so that they learn to think like Him and to execute life from biblical perspectives and principles.
The school’s role is to impress each student with the knowledge that God is the source of all subjects in the curriculum (Col.1:17,17; II Cor. 8:6). Accordingly, teachers implement biblical principles into their classroom instruction and discipline.
ACS sees education as a succession of instruction and internal discipline based upon the teachings and principles found in the Bible. Education is necessary:
1) to cultivate a student’s moral and academic comprehension of the nature and character of God and his intimate involvement in the lives of men (Knowing God);
2) to empower and set free the intellect so that the student will morally reason based upon the criteria of truth set forth in the Word of God (Finding Freedom);
3) to identify the student’s God given purpose so that he may pursue the course of life which Jesus Christ has chosen for him (Discovering Purpose) and, ultimately,
4) to render a student as a beneficial and valuable asset to society (Making a Difference). In so doing, ACS will endeavor to train a generation that will provide leadership among their peers and into their community. We desire that the disciples that are produced in this school will impact the world for Christ.

TEAM OF MENTOR TEACHERS
Mentors at ACS strive to promote the growth and development of the teaching staff in order to improve student learning. It is known that all teachers essentially have to learn how to teach while on the job. Mentors are critical supports in guiding teachers to enhance their planning, instruction, and content knowledge. Mentors also help orient new teachers to the school community and to teaching in general.
ACS's team of Mentor Teachers are available to assist other teachers on staff in an effort to positively impact teacher growth and student learning. Together they have over 75 years of teaching experience! We have valuable information that can help our teachers under the TEACHING EFFECTIVELY tab of this website.
